SLOAN, the Halifax rock band formed in 1991, that boasts a 30-year career blending pop and dynamic guitar work. Comprising Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland, and Andrew Scott, Sloan’s chemistry shines in the Canadian indie rock scene. Known for pioneering the East Coast alternative scene, their music ranges from introspective ballads to energetic power pop. With over 250 songs and 30 singles, Sloan has received nine June Award nominations, winning Best Alternative Album in 1997, and earned and a top five spot in a CBC critics’ poll.
